How do I add Bitcoin Radar widgets to my Home Screen?
Long-press an empty area of your Home Screen → tap Edit → + → search "Bitcoin Radar" → swipe between sizes → tap Add Widget. Repeat for each size you want (Small, Medium, Large, Lock Screen). After placing, long-press the widget → Edit Widget to customize which metrics each slot displays.
How do I customize what my widget shows?
Long-press the placed widget → Edit Widget → tap each slot to pick from: BTC Price, 24h Change, Trend Signal, Swing Signal (Pro), Day Trader Signal (Pro), Trend Confidence (Pro), Swing Confidence (Pro), Day Trader Confidence (Pro), Accuracy %, Hashrate, Block Height, Difficulty, Halving Countdown, Mempool Fee, Fear & Greed, Sats per Dollar, Miner Net Profit / Hashrate, Stock Ticker, Sparkline. Slot counts: Small has 4 slots, Medium has 4 slots, Large has 8 slots.
What widget sizes are available?
Home Screen: Small (2×2), Medium (4×2), Large (4×4). Lock Screen: Circular, Rectangular, Inline. All 6 surface live BTC data; sizes differ in how many slots and how much detail fit.
How often do widgets refresh?
The widget requests a refresh every 5 minutes; iOS controls the actual cadence and may grant fewer refreshes under heavy budget pressure (low power mode, background-app-refresh disabled, etc.). Opening the ₿itcoin Radar app forces an immediate refresh of every placed widget.
Why are some widget values updating faster than others?
Different metrics have different freshness ceilings: BTC price, block height, and 24h change refresh live (every few minutes when iOS grants a reload). Hashrate, difficulty, halving countdown, and $/day mining update on our 4-hour pipeline schedule (00/04/08/12/16/20 UTC). Stock tickers (BTCI, BLOX, etc.) update approximately hourly. Trend signal + day count update on the same 4-hour pipeline because trend transitions are intentionally slow-moving. The widget refresh cycle itself is 5 minutes, but a slot will only display new data when the underlying source has new data.
Why does my widget show "—" for some values?
That slot needs data that isn't currently available. Common reasons: (1) the slot is a Pro option (Swing Signal, Day Trader Signal, Confidence, Accuracy) and you're on the Free tier, (2) the underlying pipeline is briefly between updates (will populate on next refresh), or (3) the data source is temporarily unavailable.
Why isn't my widget updating?
iOS budgets a limited number of widget refreshes per day per widget (~40–100 typically); under heavy throttling some refreshes are deferred. To force a refresh, open the ₿itcoin Radar app — the foreground transition triggers an immediate widget reload. If a widget still appears stuck after opening the app, long-press it → Remove Widget, then re-add via Edit Home Screen → + → Bitcoin Radar. Note: mining stats (hashrate, difficulty, halving countdown) only change every 4 hours by design — those slots will look "stuck" between pipeline runs even when refreshes are firing normally.
Which widget features require Pro?
Pro-only slot options: Swing Signal, Day Trader Signal, Trend Confidence, Swing Confidence, Day Trader Confidence, Accuracy. Free-tier basics: BTC Price, 24h Change, Trend Signal, Sparkline, Hashrate, Block Height, Difficulty, Halving Countdown, Mempool Fee, Fear & Greed, Sats per Dollar, Miner data, Stock Ticker. Free-tier users can fully customize widget slots, but Pro-only options display "—" until you upgrade.
Lock Screen widgets — what do they show?
Circular: BTC price or signal indicator in a compact circle. Rectangular: price + 24h change with trend dot. Inline: a single-line price readout displayed alongside the clock on the Lock Screen.
